This past weekend was very physical. Saturday was my first outdoor bike ride since September. One of my teammated (TNTALLSTARS) suggested we meet at Loantaka park for a ride since it was going to be nice outside. And it morphed into about 25 people. TNT Coaches, TNT Alumni, and the TNT Allstars. It was so good to see everyone. It was the first time these season I got excited about training. It has been a lonely season. I mean I m glad I am training again finally got back in the groove but it is not the same as last year. For one, I haven’t really bonded with the people in team in training. It is good to see the coaches though. They are so excited about what they do (which is awesome) Anyway, I don’t even know who is on my team. I just keep hearing Devilman and Philly.
So I say all that to say I was SUPER excited about Saturday. I started off with my chain falling off LOL. So As I watch my fellow teammates ride off (which by they are way they are superfast). TA (coach) and AA (TNT Allstar) stayed behind and helped get my chain back on. So I got started and tried not to be too far behind. I walked up a hill..I just couldn’t take it anymore. I was just a little disappointed – it won’t happen again. We got on the straightaway and I was averaging 15 miles per hour I was so excited until we turned around and came back and realized it was a tailwind, then I was average 10 miles per hour. By June I need to be 15 mile/hour I will be 15/hour and 8 miles/hour up a hill. I can say I am not where I was when I first started Well when I got done I thought I was going to do a brick but my legs were shot.
And I realized I registered for a Half Day Triathlon Camp. So here is Sunday and I am off to Chelsea Piers. So I am hanging out with JS and LC and it was a good time. 3 hours of swimming, biking and running I was a little tired. It was a great clinic and once again and made me think why I was not having as much fun as last year. Hanging out with my old teammates reminded made remember how I got hooked on this sport in the first place and why I registered for 5 races this summer. It also reminded me No Pain No Gain….. somehow I will overcome my crazy schedule and be ready to race and while I am at it hang out with some of the coolest people ever!
(Sidebar: gotta love long plane rides in coach. I am getting some long time blogs done but got the baby in the background, full plane just glad I am in the isle. Oh BTW Continental has now moved to food to purchase. For the amount of money I paid for this ticket the should serving Filet Mignon (and I am not a steak eater LOL)
