Today was a good swim...Coach Chuck helped me with my stroke. And it was very helpful. Very helpful. I am really starting to understand Swimming is all about technique (and arm strength and core strength).
It was nice getting a hi five from Coach Chuck. Then I get reminded I got REV 3 and had a panic attack in the pool. LOL I got it together though.
Ready for swim on Thursday.
Until next time.

37 min 37 miles 37 min
So this past Saturday, I was invited to celebrate tow of my coaches birthday (Jilly Scott and Jav). This invitation consisted of meeting at the Montclair Y @8 am, swimming for 37 minutes, riding for 37 miles and run for 37 minutes. So you get the theme.
Of course I am running a little late and I get called out on e-mail. I am always the kid that gets picked on LOL. Anyway, 37 min translates to 37 laps for “Them.”
Definition of “Them” Coaches and Teammates that are training for the Half Iron and Iron Man. Definition “Not Me” LOL
Anyway, it seemed like a great idea, I wanted to try and by Friday night I couldn’t punk out. In January I made a resolution when I RSVP or make a commitment I can’t change my mind. It is helping me with organization, planning me time and learning to say no.
Anyway, as I jumped in the pool to join the Iron Men …my first lap OUT OF BREATH. I was trying to swim fast to not get in their way. My fast their slow. Tried another lap I was done by lap 3 LOL. It was about 12 people in one lane. Finally, another lane opened the fast people moved and I hung out with Lori, Jo-Anne and Allen. And while I was trying to punk out on doing more laps surprise surprise Allen made me finish my laps. I was like “Oh Sweat. I am scared of him” (it is the quiet ones you have to look out for LOL). Now keep in mind I am suppose to be doing the swim leg for Rev 3 Quassy.
So it is time to change and get ready for the bike ride. Now for some reason I am the only slow person in my team that shows up. I am looking for a couple of my teammates, even though I am slower than them I can keep up. Whateva, I am going to try to do this.
Now Jav picked this course. All I can say is that he better be glad it was his birthday. 2 minutes in the ride we are up a hill. DUDE!!! REALLY!! My legs are scream, I am exhausted from a swim and I though this would be a light ride so I can keep up with “THEM” by 75%. Now understand Carlos and Allen tried to be nice and hang out with me but let me tell you how it went down. Just as I thought I would get a little recovery there is this road called Bradford Avenue…..Dude after halfway up this MOUNTAIN (not hill) I just got off my bike. Which by the way is even worse cause you are still going up hill pushing a bike. Well Jav and Carlos ride back down the hill a little bit looking for me.
Finally I told them I got my directions I am good. (I knew this would be a long ride for me.) So they caught up with the pack. Usually I can see people in a distance but Jeremy, Lori, Jo-Anne, Jess, Jilly Scott, Allen, Jav,, Carlos were just a distane memory LOL. WELL I keep it going cause this is what is all about Start going up another I don’t know if was Stevens or Main Street or Francisco Avenue All I know I was aboutg to go up a second incline and my chain fell off.
“THANK YOU JESUS” I yelled out loud yes I did. I got off my bike put that chain back on and turned my ass around Hoping I will make back to the Y before THEM pass ME LOL. Now let me tell you I was make all kinds of wrong turns mainly because I told myself this was not the right way I cause I say a hill. I just played myself. One road I went all the down and there was a baseball game going on at the bottom of the hill. Well too many people watching for me to walk it so I HAD to ride up that hill LOL OOC.
Finally got back to the Y and then I decide I should go for the run because that is what you are suppose to do. I was so tired that 37 minutes took 1 hour LOL. I was trying to complete 3 miles but after 1.5 miles I had to sent on a bench at the park to take a break my body was tired, my legs were in pain.
And of course THEM got back by them time I got done running….Reality Check…I GOT A LOT of WORK to DO…
When Lori and Jess saw me they were like “You Alright?” LOL I just told them they are insane lol. Finally, I joined THEM at Just Jakes for food, drinks and fun (I was excited to see my Coach Amy!)
And even though my body did appreciate Saturday’s events I am glad I tried. I truly enjoy my TNT family. I got great advice that day and they all inspire me to become a better athlete, better person. Each of THEM teaches me something different and I am so grateful for that. I may not be an IRON MAN but I hang out with THEM LOL!

Made Some Changes
So I will not be participating in the St. Anthony's Triathlon on May 1. I will be joing the TNT on June 26 at the philly triathlon.
BOTTOM LINE: They will be sending no Coaches or Mentors. Apparently, this TNT of 2011 all dropped out. I knew there was a reason why I felt like this was a lonely journey.
So glad to be part of TNT Allstars, hang out with the 2010 Alumni and Coaches. I am doing 5 races with these cats this summer. One of my teammates did the MORE Half Marathon in 2 hours today. GO JS - what an inspiration!!!
Well, will be focused on the June 5 Swim for REV 3 and June 26 Philly Tri!!
Peace Love and Sooooul!!

A Busy Schedule
So I just posted two blogs I wrote two weeks ago. LOL Right now I am on a train that just left DC. It was a good trip (for friends and family not necessarily for training LOL).
Anyway I went to LA earlier this week for a couple of days, did maybe 40 minutes of exercise and then my sit up and push up challenge.
Anyway, work and traveling really put a speed bump in my training. I am going to be sucking it up at swim tomorrow.
HOW DO YOU BALANCE LIFE and TRAINING?
I starting to think you don't...I am mean this is not my full time job so I just have to force myself to fit it in because my schedule will never allow me do it stress free. Geez Louise. I am still determined to finish this season with an 8 minute mile and 17 mph bike ride.
What I realize is strength training is crucial so, I am will be doing Yoga 1nce/week and weights 2wice/week and be consistent. I miss Yoga I have lost a lot of my strength since I stopped and I am so tight. In addition, need o drop 40 more pounds this season (hopefully lose a total of 70 by next May) With the exception of this week I have been doing pretty good since January (gave up beef, pork and Deep Fried Foods (only deep fried - not pan seared LOL just sayin')
This weekend I am celebrating my coaches’ birthday by doing a 37 minute swim, 37 mile bike ride and 37 minute run. I am pretty excited I just have a lot of work to do this week. A LOT of WORK!!!
If I was only twenty something this would be a whole lot easier...your body isn't falling apart and you can bounce back faster. I am just sayin' LOL
Talk to You Later!

Not A Good Week
I wasn’t feeling well this week and just did nothing. So you fall and have to get back up. So I start over tomorrow.
I had an exciting weekend (maybe too much excitement)
This past weekend was very physical. Saturday was my first outdoor bike ride since September. One of my teammated (TNTALLSTARS) suggested we meet at Loantaka park for a ride since it was going to be nice outside. And it morphed into about 25 people. TNT Coaches, TNT Alumni, and the TNT Allstars. It was so good to see everyone. It was the first time these season I got excited about training. It has been a lonely season. I mean I m glad I am training again finally got back in the groove but it is not the same as last year. For one, I haven’t really bonded with the people in team in training. It is good to see the coaches though. They are so excited about what they do (which is awesome) Anyway, I don’t even know who is on my team. I just keep hearing Devilman and Philly.
So I say all that to say I was SUPER excited about Saturday. I started off with my chain falling off LOL. So As I watch my fellow teammates ride off (which by they are way they are superfast). TA (coach) and AA (TNT Allstar) stayed behind and helped get my chain back on. So I got started and tried not to be too far behind. I walked up a hill..I just couldn’t take it anymore. I was just a little disappointed – it won’t happen again. We got on the straightaway and I was averaging 15 miles per hour I was so excited until we turned around and came back and realized it was a tailwind, then I was average 10 miles per hour. By June I need to be 15 mile/hour I will be 15/hour and 8 miles/hour up a hill. I can say I am not where I was when I first started Well when I got done I thought I was going to do a brick but my legs were shot.
And I realized I registered for a Half Day Triathlon Camp. So here is Sunday and I am off to Chelsea Piers. So I am hanging out with JS and LC and it was a good time. 3 hours of swimming, biking and running I was a little tired. It was a great clinic and once again and made me think why I was not having as much fun as last year. Hanging out with my old teammates reminded made remember how I got hooked on this sport in the first place and why I registered for 5 races this summer. It also reminded me No Pain No Gain….. somehow I will overcome my crazy schedule and be ready to race and while I am at it hang out with some of the coolest people ever!
(Sidebar: gotta love long plane rides in coach. I am getting some long time blogs done but got the baby in the background, full plane just glad I am in the isle. Oh BTW Continental has now moved to food to purchase. For the amount of money I paid for this ticket the should serving Filet Mignon (and I am not a steak eater LOL)
